The P-Tropolis Corporation Shows Love-Giving Back To The Community

SEPTEMBER 19, 2015 the P-Tropolis Corporation sponsored a community HIV Awareness Rally in West Baltimore’s Walbrook Junction. The Rally was themed P-Tropolis LOVES demonstrating their love and care for their community. Healthcare professionals were on hand for testing and consultation bringing awareness to the HIV epidemic and its impact in Baltimore City. There were mobile vans on site providing HIV/AIDS and STD testing including Project RE of Johns Hopkins University, Bachs Healthcare, and W.A.R. (Women Accepting Responsibility), a non-profit group that provides HIV testing, education and holistic services to empower women.

Music, food and fun set the tone of this event although the purpose was much deeper. According to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Baltimore was ranked 3rd in the nation regarding estimated HIV diagnosed cases in 2013 (http://phpa.dhmh.maryland.gov/OIDEOR/CHSE/SitePages/statistics.aspx). The numbers are startling and heartbreaking. The members of P-Tropolis Corporation recognized this disparity and took this opportunity to do something about it! This event served 80-100 people in the community with the main goal being HIV testing. With such a meaningful goal there’s no surprise that the event was indeed a success.

Brandon A. Booth, founder of P-Tropolis Corporation, stated, “We have realized the importance of uplifting our communities along with holding ourselves and each other accountable for our actions; we must promote health awareness throughout our city and our nation.” When asked his thoughts about the success of the event, Brandon replied, “If we just reached one, it would have been worth it but I’m happy we were able to serve many more.”

With all of the positivity buzzing around the P-Tropolis LOVES HIV Awareness Rally, the question emerges ‘what is P-Tropolis?’ The P-Tropolis Corporation is an Entertainment company specializing in Christian, Inspirational, and Family-Oriented media. Its two main acts include Brandon A. Booth & Project Praise who primarily perform for audiences 14 and up and Project Praise Kids who perform for audiences 13 and younger. Both groups perform by way of music, theater and film.

So what’s next for this powerhouse Entertainment company? Brandon A. Booth and Project Praise is currently preparing for their upcoming album release this winter and the release of the first Project Praise Kids album and DVD this spring! More community awareness events are coming up for 2016 including the 2nd annual P-Tropolis LOVES HIV Awareness Rally, and two additional community events, P-Tropolis LOVES Autism Awareness Rally and the P-Tropolis LOVES Breast Cancer Awareness Rally.

If you want to hear this awesome group perform you can catch them on Saturday, October 3rd at the New Psalmist Baptist Church for their Young Adult Worship Experience. (Check the site for more details and future performance dates).

P-Tropolis Corporation believes that love is an action word. They show their love, care and concern for the community by being apart of the solution in the fight against issues that plague Baltimore City and beyond.

A special thank you to all of the vendors who participated in the 2015 P-Tropolis LOVES HIV Awareness Rally and made event a success!
